California water blade?

Found this on a website and was wondering if anyone uses it now? Sounds like a good way to dry your car after a wash. Any feedback on ease of use and if it is gentle on the paint would help.

Re: California water blade?

I thought about buying one of these, but at $25 I'll just use my chamois

Re: California water blade?

My son just picked up one of these things a couple weeks ago. He says it does a great job on flat parts like the roof and the hood. The only bad thing he mentioned was it was hard to get into the side moldings and the bumper creases on his car. So I guess this is a recommendation.

You can get them for 9 dollars at Wal-Mart.

I just came from Wal Mart and mine didn't have them...$9 sounds like a good price though.

Re: California water blade?

That's surprising.

And $9 is for the small one. the bigger ones are around $13.

I got one from Costco 3 years ago and still using the same one. I use that to get the majority of the water off then the Absorber to get the left over. Just use those 2 and you should never get any scratches or circles.

clean the blade before each use. If you have a rock in the path of the blades path it can leave a nice pin stripe down your car.

I've used one for a couple of years now, works great and doesn't scratch the paint. It's best used on big flat areas like the roof and hood, still need a microfiber towel to pick up the spots it misses and on the curvey portions. It's a real time saver.

Re: California water blade?

I use it with my Mr. Clean Autodry. I just spend a few minutes to get most of the water off and let the rest dry by itself.

Re: California water blade?

CA water blade stole my process! I have been using a squeegee since 87'. You can get it at a hardware shop for a few dollors with a longer reach handle! In addition, you can remove the bugs safely by using the other sponge side. Why spend the extra money for a CA blade!

Re: California water blade?

I use my CA Waterblade when I wash the car in the sun. I quickly go over the majority of the car with it to get as much water off quickly, then I go over the other areas with an Absorber.

Target has them, large and small, along with the Cali Car Duster (also large and small).

Re: California water blade?

I have used one for about 5 years now, don't have a chamois anymore, this thing works great! Hmmm, wonder if they come with the girl now? The material the WaterBlade is made of is a silicone, much softer than a rubber squeegee!

Re: California water blade?

I use it. Works great. Cuts my drying time in half. You have to make sure the car is absolutely clean when you use it, though, because if there is any dirt on the car at all, it will scratch the paint.

Re: California water blade?

Ok guys, went to the Target this morning and picked a blade up. Pretty happy with results. Made the drying process go quicker. I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 starts....lol
