Swirl Mark/Scratch Removal
What is a good product that can get rid of spider webs, swirl marks and small scratches ???? Need help quick. I heard something about Scratch X . Is that any good ?
the right way is with a porter cable and polishing compound....I tried using scratch X 2.0 and one of those 30$ polishers but they just dont do justice to the real thing man....it got rid of the super fine ones after a wash and clay...
Scratch X works good for very fine scratches but it's a lot of work, it the scratches are fairly deep it wont work. I use it for quick touchups on small areas but if you're talking about the whole car, or even a whole panel for that matter forget about it. I use my Flex on larger areas, but for really small spots just a few inches across the scratch X by hand is the quicker route cause then I don't have to clean the pads after.
I tried Scratch X out 2 weeks ago just for the hell of it and I was pretty surprised with the results. I did a wash, clay bar, then applied the scratch x and finished it off with a coat of Meguiars Cleaner wax. Came out smooth and shiney, but keep in mind scratch x wont remove your small scratches and swirls permanently.
Well i do have a buffer at home. last time i used it i rubbed a little paint off , i saw red "/ but not enough where it was down to the metal. but thanks guys for all your input ^^!!!!

There isn't really an effective way to do it. Best just to use a wax with fillers, but that will not look anything close to what your car would look like if it was detailed.
Typically most off-the-shelf items at your local Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, or Pepboys isn't going to do much if any paint correction.
If they do work, they're probably not removing the swirls/scratches permanently. Just temporarily filling them in. Once they wear off, the swirls/scratches come back.
If you want to remove swirls/scratches, you should invest in a PC 7424 or FLEX XC 3401 VRG buffer.
Don't be too scared of these tools, I picked up my first one at 16 and I didn't screw up my paint. Heck, I turned it into a small business, now.
With the buffer, you'll need some pads to apply your polishes.
An orange cutting pad is a good abrasive pad to remove light scratches & medium swirls.
A white polishing pad is good to follow up the orange pad and give your car a glossy shine.
Get yourself a medium to light abrasive polish. I personally prefer the Menzerna polishing line, such as Menzerna PO106FA Nano Polish or Menzerna Super Intensive Polish.
Apply with the buffer & pad using moderate weight working in small sections at a time.
When the polish becomes translucent, buff it off. If you're satisfied, move on. If there's still scratches, try again. If there's hazing, follow up with the white pad and a lighter polish.
