Hey I just want to find out for sure, what type of metal is that in the center?

ah it has a clear coat :O I did not know that.

So is it something I can take a compound or medium polish to or just a bit of Quick detailer would be my best bet to clean it.

Don't use anything abrasive on it. It also dents very easy so don't drop anything on it. Some mild cleaner and a MicroFiber towel should work just fine.
