Question Shop-Vac & Blower (all-in-one)

Found this on sale at Home Depot. It's a 2.5 gallon wet/dry vac that also functions as a blower. I typically keep my car very clean so in theory I shouldn't need a heavy duty vaccum and I use the Absorber towel and a waffle weave to dry my car, but the added function of a blower would be ideal.

Anyone recommend this? I'm thinking about getting one.

That vacuum isn't really ideal for much. There's not much power in the motor, so picking up dirt and such isn't going to work very well, and then the blow drying force won't be nearly enough to get the water off of the exterior of the car.

I would say get this for a vacuum: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...0070921x00003a

Not that exact model, but Lowe's has a very similar one for about $40-50, small yet very powerful, great for a vacuum. For the exterior of the car, I would recommend a leaf blower. It is much more powerful and will really sheet the water off of your car, and also will blow out the cracks where water likes to sit which is the biggest advantage of having a blower. Use the water sheeting method first, then blow dry the car following with a waffle weave. The only thing that smaller vacuum would do is barely push the water on the paint since it doesn't have enough hp.

BTW, I'll have the write-up for your car done in a couple days, just gotta wait till I'm home and get a new battery for the dead camera. Have a great night
