Removing the Clear Bra...Residue left, now what?
So, my new (to me ) o5 Coupe IP has a clear bra that I don't like as it's yellowing and has a dull finish. So, as we speak, I am removing the bra from the sides lowers, mirrors, doors, bumper, hood etc....after which i was going to give a good wash and wax.
However....There is a very sticky residue that is being left from the bra...probably because i's been there for years....what can I use to remove it?
I was thinking goo gone, but i heard that it stains the IP paint.....please, hlep me, I only have one day to do this, and wife will be pissed if theres sticky crap on the car...
thanks in advance
matt

alright, well in case anyone else wants to know.... the goo gone gel did absolutely nothing....but it didn't stain, so a plus there I guess.
For the solution....WD40. Yes, believe it or not, this worked a charm. Spray it on, let it sit for a few seconds, and scrap off with a plastic scraper. This was by no means a simple spray on and wipe off, but it crystalized the left over residue, and made it easier to get off.
Now, on the the polish and wax....and man, I must say... The car looks better than ever without a bra... (of course that's usually the case for our "rides".) anywho...if anyone has questions, let me know.

Matty, sorry I'm a day late... For future refference, 3M makes a general purpose wax/adhesive remover that we typically use along with a plastic razor blade. Some of the older film can leave alot of residue behind. 3M's film is infamous for this.
...I've also heard that gasoline also works, but I can not advise anybody to try that.

you know, that would have been nice to know, but i don't imagine it would have been any easier to scrape the adhesive off. all told, it probably took me 3 hours to take off the bras and to get the adhesive off. If i had known that, I probably wouldn't have undertaken such a large task all at once, but if anyone has an IP G, then you gotta get the clearbra off and do a good wax. The car looked good, but now it looks like sex....I love this car.
