What Wheel Cleaner do you use?
ive tried posting this to another thread about this and have had no response...
Alright... These are my rims... they are somewhat stained by sumthing.. if i clay them do you think itll come off? and also what are the posibilities of the claybay messing up ur rims or no they cant?
WD-40 - I have used WD-40 on friends wheels with baked on brake dust with great results. Do not spray it on, because you might get it on the brakes. Spray it liberally on a cloth, put it on the baked dust, let it sit for at least a couple of minutes, and with a little help with a cloth, it will simply disolve, It works great. Brake dust is a pet peave of mine. I see cars with great wheels and the fronts look black because of the dust. I don't let mine get to the point of baking on the dust. You can put a wheel wax on after they are clean.
I am nearly in the same position as the OP. I bought my car used and the oem 19s have brake dust that is caked onto the rims. I've left p21s on there for hours, adding more product every 30 minutes and it did nothing. It doesn't even make a dent. I think it needs a porter cable or something because I have no idea what to use.
I guess I could try a clay bar -- do you need to polish the wheels afterward, like when you clay the car?

^ lol alot of people using that on painted finishes...I like poor boys wheel sealant, u put it on once every few months, and u can literally just rinse the brake dust off your rims, hell when it rains my rims get clean. Same with the paint on my car. Zaino FTW!
