What Wheel Cleaner do you use?

So I'm looking for a pretty strong wheel cleaner that will fairly easily take of caked on brake dust that ordinary wheel cleaner will not. It seems like there are some products that I found online that are all pretty good, but I wanted to see if anyone here has used these products or suggest other products.

So far I've found:
1. Brown Royal
2. Chemical Guys Diablo Gel
3. P21S Gel

Does anyone have first hand experience with any of these or recommend any others?

Soft scrub works good. Suds it up on the rims and let it sit for a minute and it will all come right off perfectly

soft scrub....probably not!

I use the P21S and love it...safe on all wheels so there is no guesswork to figure out if you can use it or not!

Meguiars wheel brightener...Stupid strong, will etch wheels if not careful, cant use in the sun, must do one wheel at a time and FAST! about a 45 dwell/agitation is all that is needed.

Diablo wheel gel I hear is good stuff, similar to P21S, but cheaper!

i don't use any kind of wheel cleaner. any strong solvent (if it doesn't do it immediately) will eventually eat through the clearcoat on the wheels. car wash soap with a separate terry cloth or wheel wash mitt or a soft wheel cleaning brush.

If you value your finishes on the coupe 19s or coupe 18s, you won't use any strong wheel cleaners on your wheels.

What does the finish matter if it is covered in thick black brake dust that will not come off?

Means you have alot of hand scrubbing to do that you shouldn't have let it get that way in the 1st place?

Ask yourself this. What good is it to clearn the wheels if the end result is a set of ugly paint stripped wheels? (abeit clean)

Every time i clean my car, i mist my 19s with some quick detail and just wipe everything down with a MF towel. It just wipes off, looks perfect, no scratchs, etc.

Clean, and easy. Thats what i do. My wheels dont get caked with brake dust.

to elaborate: Many wheel cleaners use harsh chemicals to do the dirty work.. it brakes down the grime and dust thats caked in. Not only does it do that to the brake dust, it harms the clear coat and eventually will reach the paint on your rims.

Use Eagle One A2Z Wheel and Rim cleaner, spray it on, wait about 10 seconds and then agitate with a soft brush or sponge, and make sure to get the inner barrels too, then rinse off immediately. Do one wheel at a time. Then use any kind of wax, and wash them with soap and water every 1-2 weeks at the most.

And to nghiars, some wheel cleaners are like that, and some do that when used improperly, which kinda happens often since the directions generally aren't very clear. You should only need the cleaners on very neglected wheels, and until they are like that, which they never should be, use car wash soap and water.
