Rock chips on side skirt? PIC
I bought my car used last year, and it came with complementary rock chips (I think) near the rear tires where Infiniti puts the paint protector.
Anyone know why there's so much rash there, and how I can make it look better? It is possible to touch it up? The chips seem so small, but very frequent. Thanks

PS: your tires look ROUGH!
Now that I've looked at it again I must ask if those do happen to be rock chips where was that driven? It looks like it got sand blasted and another question. Is this on both sides?

It's on both sides. I bought the car last year from a single owner, and it came like this.
I also thought I could clean it up, but it's definitely pitted, I can feel it, and looking very closely, the paint has been chipped.
As for my tires, they do look really bad in that picture... though they're fine.

That's crazy, k guess the front bumper probably got repainted Before because it should have seen the same beating. I know turtle wax has a thing called chipstick it fills in the chips and then you apply the sealant over it, then I would clear bra over the Whole area .

I was thinking about that, or http://drcolorchip.com/
They state it's better for road rash rather than big chips.
Not sure if it's worth the price. They claim the paint is different than dealer touchup paint.
If I could dab the paint on a cloth, rub on the area to fill the rash, and remove excess, I could duplicate their process.
I just don't know if there is some special way to remove excess paint or not.

That Pattern does not seem like rock chips from the wheel. It looks way too straight and uniform, I mean it should start at the wheel well and go up, but there's that thin line between its really weird, you prob need a respray, or take off the clear bra see what it uncovers.
Take a pic outside in the sun with no flash, it might not look as bad ha, but its weird non the less.

^^^I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN, I HATE LITTLE SCRATCHES. I think that you might be able to get some of it out with a claybar to tell you the truth, it doesn't look to be a big deal.
OP, throughly wash the area, then claybar it. Those aren't rock chips, it's too uniforms, looks like possible overspray or like you drove over wet concrete or something. If you don't know how to clay bar, then just look up a video on youtube. The clay bar I would recommend is Clay Magic Blue, which you can pick up down at Autozone, it won't break apart like Meg's does and it's more aggressive than Mother's.
