I have buffed many spots out by hand rubbing. Whats wrong with that? You can not get a buffer into tight spots so then what do you do?

So i took my car to body shop and had them take a look at it. It turns out that the shadows left behind from the debadge is the original color of the car.(LR) the rest of the car has changed color due to exposure to the sun. there is pretty much nothing that can be done except wait for the shadows to eventually catch up with the rest of car. FML :c ryingcrying:

what if you take a clay bar to it ..??
its supposed to lift contaminants off your paint .
i.e. the darker area around ,where your emblems were ..
you might want to do the whole car after if it really does a good job ..
idk just an idea .i guess .. if you try it let us know how it goes ..
k thnx ..

clay is going to do nothing for it...its like putting a bandaid on your arm and then hangin at the beach all day...you can try to shave off your tanned skin (surrounding area) but chances are its not going to be fixed...
thats why its either a repaint, or debadge right away, not 1 year later! compounding and polishing are your only hope other than a repaint. The miscolored area is not going to CATCH UP...the whole thing will age the same

i used to have this problem with my sedan. the shadow of the infiniti words, infiniti logo, and the g35x, and then i debadge and went with the skyline 350gt. after that i debadge again and have like alot of shadow on it... not even funny(skyline and infiniti over lapping one another) so, i compound that section only with the buffer, god it came off good, bad thing was only that section looks good not the trunk. i had to compound and buff the whole trunk. i lived with the shadows for 3 years that time and it pissed me off. about 7-8 months ago i compound and buff and voila! miracle... i still have a few scratches from those shi**y kids around the way trying to steal the skyline lettering.. god damn kids...

There's not too much you can do with it. If the clearcoat is still intact, the actual pigment of the paint has faded.
If you have enough paint to play with, run a medium cut polish over the entire trunk and follow it with a fine cut polish. That will rule out any fading or hazing from the clear coat. If it's still there, wait until it fades and matches, or get a respray.
