The longer the crap has been sitting on your paint, the deeper it has penetrated. There are detailing products made specifically for removing bird droppings (I think Turtlewax has a product like this )but I've never tried them. I am always dealing with bird droppings due to where I have to park for work. My car is ivory pearl so it is a nightmare when removing the bird dropping leaves a yellow stain behind. What I use is Klasse AIO which is a polish with multiple properties. One of them is removing minor surface imperfections like oxidation and light swirls. If this isn't strong enough to remove the stain I use either Menzerna final polish, intensive polish, or Meguiars ScratchX. I'm not an expert, but I think the idea is that you need to get deep enough into the clear coat to remove the stain. You have to realize that you are removing a very thin layer of clear coat but it is nothing to freak out about. Again I use these products because these a readily available to me. My advice is based on some articles I read on autopia.org. Download the ebook. It has tons of info. Hope this helps.

You can try Meguiars ScratchX to remove it. As stated above you should keep a towel and quick detailer handy to remove and droppings ASAP. If you don't, it can etch the paint. If you wax your car regularly this can help reduce the problem, but you should still try to get it off ASAP. I know it's hard to spot sometimes!

ON a side note, my wife must have a target on her head. She been "bombed" by sea gulls twice when we were on vacation. Once in Orlando and once in Cancun. Dunno if I dare let her drive my car!

Birds love bombing on Gs! What you need to do is have it buffed and polished, which will require several cutting levels. This should be brought to a professional detailer. Whether or not it could be completely removed will depend on how deep the crap has penetrated. If it's not too deep, the detailer can wetsand that area.........there is a good chance it cannot be removed at all due to the depth of damage.

It's always a good idea to keep the car protected w/ wax or sealants as it will provide a good amount of protection from environmental contaminants such as bird droppings.

I feel your pain! I keep a spray bottle of water and a cotton towel in my desk (my employees laugh at me) just in case I get hit at work. I have an Obsidan Black car in SoFLa so bird ***** bakes in immediately. What works for me is distilled white vinegar and a cotton swab. I swab the area that looks etched, a little at a time (BE CARFULL!). Once I am happy with the results I use Mothers: Cleaner Wax (Phase I), Polish (Phase II), and Carnuba wax (Phase III) on the effected area until it blends in. Another good tip is to keep your waxed (easier said than done) that way the ***** etches the wax more that your paint. In addition, I have also had good results with 3M swirl remover. Here too, you will have to rewax the areas that the swirl remover was used on and blend in. As with anyhting that has do do with the finish of your car, TAKE YOUR TIME! BE PATIENT!
