LOOK! - 8 Coats of 1Z einszett Glanz
Recently 1Z einszett Glanz peaked an interest when I saw Tommy's WRX Wagon in World Rally Blue (our clear film installer) I was blown away by the depth, gloss, metallic pop! It turned out to be Glanz....7 coats! I was speechless!
I finally had a chance on Thursday to work on my car. The first wash in 2 months! (yup I just said that)
The car didn't need any claying just a good wash and Menzerna Super Finish with the Flex 3403 and an Uber Green Pad.
7 out of the 8 coats were done within a couple of hours with a PC 7424XP using an Uber Black Pad. After applying the Glanz on the whole car I removed it with an Uber Classic MF Towel. The 8th coat was done today (car was rinsed prior)
I threw in some random shots of the car as well.
Take a look:

With all due respect-this is almost brand new car with high quality paint. There're loads of Audi's in my neighbourhood and I always admired paint quality. I doubt owners ever heard of word 'detailing" judging by amount of brake dust on the wheels.
I bet $10 turtle wax will have no less stunning results.
Try einzett on my poor G which was resprayed by Infiniti sublet paint shop under warranty(I complained! no use)-it's still gonna look like a turd....
Nice pics though.

paint needs to be prepped correctly in order to get a car to look like this.
my car is a year old sits outside and has just about 8000 miles on it.
here is an audi paint correction job that we did.
let me know if turtle wax can do this.

Yeah, now everybody in this section uses term "paint correction". It is not! Paint is "correct", it is high quality factory finish on expensive car, although neglected
Try "paint correction" on that:

Paint is NOT "correct". Rear door and rear quarter panel are not matched to the front part. No amount of prep and einzett will "correct" it. Not even 10 coats.
We were talking about one year old car in initial post, why are you showing me that old S4 wagon with swirls? My point was that it is not fair(or shall we say "ethical", since you are a vendor here) to show almost new car with nice paint to begin with and then claim the "miracle" of einzett.
What, overstocked and gotta move it?

^Is there a reason that you are hassling these guys so badly? I have worked with them several times over the years and they tell it as they see it. They are not just trying to move 'overstocked product'
And buddy, I have done a 6 year old Pathfinder with over 100k on it, and I made it look almost like new again. Granted it didn't look this shiny because i just used P21S Wax, but you CAN make an old car with swirly scratched paint look like new again with a lot of time, effort, and TLC.
BTW, I'v used Turtle Wax. It doesn't hold a candle to most of the product sold off DI. Try using a high quality detail product some time.

The car does look amazing. I will say the whole "layering" thing is a myth though. A car doesn't look better the more layers one puts on it even though lots will convince themselves it does. 2 "layers" max is all that's needed and that second layer is really done just to make sure everything was hit. Anything over 2 layers just wipes off and wastes product. 95% of how a car looks is all in the prep.
never gone,
sorry if I hit a sore spot with you.
I posted the older S4 to show people what paint correction and proper prep will do to for a car's finish, fixing the paint etc is as I have said since day one.... all in the prep.
If you read thru the post I said we prepped the car (my 2010 S4) with a rotary and Menzerna PO106FA (Super Finish) then followed with einszett Glanz on a PC on speed 3.
I did apply 8 applications/coats to it over 2 days. Do I feel I got great results... yes.
Do I have overstock no sir, we manage our inventory extremely well.
Seems like you have been in business or have been around.
Would this post would have been better if I never mentioned how many apps of Glanz I applied? Would that have been misleading?
Everyone is entitled to their opinions and we are all here to learn.
I strongly agree that its in the paint prep!
(FYI: I'm not upset with people making any statements positive or negative or neutral, that's what a forum is for)

Sorry, point of my post is missed. Point was that you've posted pics of essentially NEW car. Everything else just doesn't matter.
That's all. All other stuff is 100% agree-prep is important and so on.
I have 7.5 year old(beat that Wannabee!) car which looks amazing(besides paint mismatch)-and that is in Ontario, with 7 salty winters, all due to proper prep and high end products. No, I do not use turtle wax myself

I've been detailing cars and following the industry for more than 15 years, but no, I am not a detaling professional. Just few hundred bucks here and there and 4 family cars to look after. I wouldn't let my mom drive crappy looking car.
What bugs me somewhat is that "paint correction" thing. Someone dropped this term on driver few months back...and everybody else followed the suit. C'mon people! If we are talking about overspray, orange peel etc-this is "paint correction". Otherwise, nope, it is not, it is a good detail job. "Restoration" is good fit too.
I guess that should settlle all, eh?
I've read good things about glanz wax, although it is suppose to be very liquidy? I think 1z is a relatively new product in North America so Phil is just trying to showcase it.
I've been tempted to try out their products but I'm fairly happy with the waxes I have. I do plan to buy the cockpit premium, leather care, and vinyl/rubber care. Phil would the vinyl/rubber care be enough for weather seals? Not sure what the benefits of the rubber stick might offer over it.

Let me interject. I have bought new MB's, Audi's, an Acura, and my Infiniti. They left the dealers lot full of swirl marks from being "detailed" at the dealer before delivery. Yesterday, I saw a new MB being delivered with tons of swirl marks and paint that needed the touch of a professional.
So the argument that "new" paint or high quality paint does not need "correction" is a myth. A friend of mine bought a new Corvette that had "orange peel" from improperly applied paint at the factory, that car had to be wet sanded to correct the paint application problems. Misapplication or untrained use of products and methods can lead to a disaster.
I agree with Phil that this forum is for the exchange of opinions and ideas, we all see it differently.
