Nissan Touch-up Paint
Nissan Touch-up Paint
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has bought and used the touch up paint for your car using the nissan touch up paint. Its usually like $8, I was just wondering how well it works and how much surface it can cover. Thanks.
I got the small touch up paint once from www.touchuppaintonline.com to fix some chips on my hood and it matched really well. Since it's a brush and not spray, I don't think you can fix anything more than small paint chips. There are paint in spray cans for bigger scratches if that's what you need.
So the one you bought from that website is the same one nissan sells at the dealership? Also, guessing you got the one ounce brush? Because i think it was only $8 at the dealership for the bottle and I have to cover about a golf ball sized area. But thanks for the info man.
I got the brush one, but it's under their own brand, not Nissan. I don't think it really matter what brand it is, because Nissan doesn't actually produce their own paint anyway, I think DuPont does and I know you can get DuPont paint just about anywhere.
Covering a golf ball sized area doesn't sound doable with touch up, you might have to spray it...

I need to get some touch up paint, too. Has anyone tried the stuff sold at Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, or similar stores?
This is a good question! I don't live near an Infiniti dealership, but if the black for Nissan is the same as obsidian black for Infiniti why get it?

Yeah fotodad, my car is desert platinum (kx6) and nissan has the exact same color, so thats definitely a good option. Also, I am probably going to get the one from nissan sometime this week, ill let you guys know how it goes.

I got the pen and it both works fine and matches perfectly. I'm not a big fan of the brush side, though. I cut some of the bristles off because it applied too much paint at one time. Now it's easier to use in smaller applications.

Dr. Colorchip is the best option out there. Look it up on their website. A number of us on this forum have used it and it's pretty amazing at what it will do.
Touch up paint is exactly that, intended for rock chips size blems. Dr. Colorchip is good stuff but it's also just touch up paint. You could go to an automotive paint store and have them hook you up with a spray can using your paint code. You may need two one for color and another for clear unless they can mix to two....
