Help! Glaze spoiled?
I have a bottle of Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze that I have used quite a few times in the past. However...I haven't used it in probably 18 months.
Decided to use it today. Applied it by machine. I have never had much of a problem removing FTG. Today was nighmare different story. I tried to remove normally with MF cloth. I could tell it wasn't coming off right, felt super oily and was just sort of smudging but removing most of it. I just took my time and continued.
After doing as best I could, there were still tons of oily smear marks, even some areas that it looked like I sort of dried on after I tried to remove. Figured no big deal...I'd just give it an ONR wash to remove the excess...assuming maybe I just used too much since it has been a while since I used it. ONR did nothing...literally nothing...to remove the glaze.
Now super frustrated, decided to just give it a Dawn wash and start over. Here is the biggest problem...the Dawn wouldn't even completey remove it. I could tell it wasn't coming off as I was washing, so I had to rub way harder than I like to as I wash just to try and get it off. As I was rinsing there was still a ton of beading so I could tell there was some protection staying despite all the Dawn. Spent about 30 minutes just continuing to Dawn wash, hoping that continued degreaser soap would eat it away.
After all of this...I dried...only to find some remaining STILL on the paint.
Does anybody have any ideas? First...did my glaze just go bad? Can that happen? And more importantly...wtf should I do to ultimately get this stuff off? Polish is the only option I can think of at this point?
