Wash my own car or let the dealer do it (for free)?

The title pretty much says it all.. I get unlimited free car washes which includes leather cleaning for the interior. Do you guys recommend staying away from machine washes and stick to hand wash?

I think the dealership uses a brand called "Leather One" or something for the interior... any reviews on that product?

Lemme know what you guys think.

I don't let the dealer wash my car. Each time I visit, they get specific instructions to not wash it. A free wash is nice...but not at the expense of scratching/marring/swirling up your paint.

Crap.. I was just being lazy and would take it to the dealer but now that I looked for them.. there are several swirls.

How would I go about fixing this?

Edit: Nevermind, there's a massive sticky that covers all this. Sigh.. damn the dealership.

If I had a white or grey/silver color, I'd let them do it (I'm getting lazier as my car gets older). Anything else will likely show the swirls they'll make.

^You just can't take chances with a black G35. These things in black scratch so badly. I thought I was going to blow a head gasket with our black 08. ALways washing and it looked like ****. Drove me mental.

I actually drive around fairly dirty during this time of year. I hate machines and the dealer is not allowed to touch my car.

I do have one machine near me that is 100% touchless, including the tires... no rails for the wheels to follow. A garage door opens, you drive in, it sprays, it dries, you pull out. Still... I hate machines so I'm seldom caught there. It doesn't clean 100% and I won't towel dry a semi-clean car, so it's a PITA.

Hopefully, next winter, I have a daily driver and I can just drive the G on dry, clean days.

Note to self from experience a few days ago, NEVER let them wash the car. I had gotten some work done on my car and i didnt realize they were goin to wash it, and low and behold the car is completely swirled up. They're lucky I work at a detailing shop and I can get this crap out. As much effort as they do to hand wash their brand new cars on the lot, you 'd think they'd do the same even tho your car isnt brand new.

The stealerships believe they're doing us a favor by washing our cars. That may work for some of their customers, but not for those of us that know better. Why would I want my coupe washed when I bring it in spotless....no thanks? And I let them know up front!
