Any ideas for couple year old tree sap???

When I bought my 2003 G coupe it had some really old tree sap stains on the trunk. It is not too noticeable but when the sun hits it just right its looks like crap. I have tried clay barring it for like like 20min straight, rubbing alcohol, and wd-40. I have no idea when the previous owner had gotten the tree sap on the car but she was stupid not to remove it or get it totally off. It has made a kind of pit i think in the clear coat. Is my best bet a touch up kit and just redoing those spots on the trunk? The spots are like a powder white.

Thanks

you can try taking it somewhere to get wet sanded and buffed. if that doesnt work then it will need painted. also ive never heard of someone wiping their car with wd-40 lol

I know it sounds weird lol. It is supposed to be a good solvent though. Thanks for the tips. I was wondering how much of the area around the tree sap looked different or If they didn't change when you wetsanded. I am just worried it ate through the clear coat so when I take it off there is not gunna be a clear coat to protect. There probably is not one now but idk. I might get the touch up kit and wetland it first before using the kit.

You sure it's tree sap?

If so, you can try a product called "tarminator", it's supposed to work well

Yeah it is definitely tree sap because there is a little bit of it on my number where it ran down a little. I cant wait to get it back to normal. Looks awful.
