Question infiniti dealer 'dupont teflon sealer' question

just picked up my 05 lakestone slate coupe. Dealer (no hard sell) gave me info, along with all the other warrenty paperwork, on the dupont teflon paint sealer. any comments on whether this is worth doing? it would be backed by infiniti. any feedback welcome. thanks

It is merely a silicone sealant that works pretty much the same as the chemicals that can be purchased at your local Auto Parts store. They likely have some sort of paint protection warranty, but it is just marketing. The chemicals on the local mkt today can protect the car's paint the same.

If you are worried about paint protection, having a clearbra put on the car is more worth it in my opinion. We deal with dealerships on a daily basis, and 90% of the cars on the showroom floor have a nick or two from rocks and road debris from test drives.
