^^Dont delete! Even if your initial thought was off the rest of the info makes up for it. I'm not sure on the big deal of using EACH grit, I mean it makes sense but yours turned out awsome! I just got some high grit (800 & 1500) and polishing compound for my blacked out grill project, I just might go grab a pad for my drill and do that today too!

Any advice on whether I can polish with compound and a terry cloth so I dont have to make ANOTHER trip to napa?

^Agreed. I just suggested starting with 1000 since he already hit it w/ 600. Personally, I haven't seen much difference between 2k and 2500, but I use a regular buffer and not a drill. However, to properly restore a headlight, I suggest doing EXACTLY what you suggested.

meguiars products are realy very good.whether they are for car wash and wheel cleaner.
