Scratches on Titanium trim

I got some scratches on the titanium colored plastic center console. Any suggestions on how to get those off?

LOL, just had to reply. I guess it shouldn't be called titanium then, cause you can't scratch titanium.

Well actually you can scratch titanium...but then that's not really the issue....even the black plastic seems to scratch easy...of course it's probably easier to hide too. The center is just too high and it's tough getting anything over it into the passenger seat....i hit my case on it all the time.

The "titanium" paint on the driver's door speak is scratched off. Oh well, according to him.

Doesn't titanium alloys produce an anodic coating?
Edited by VNT on 01/19/03 03:51 PM.

Try Zaino's plastic polish. I have the titanium console in my coupe and it has kept mine perfect. It will lessen light scratches and make them less obvious. Roughly $10 for a bottle at it will last a long time and works on all the plastic pieces on the car. You can order from http://www.zainobros.com.

EH ... I was thinking .. I wonder if there is some kind of paint sealant that can help with this problem..
I am getting the Diamond Kote protection which is applied by hand on the exterior paint ... I wonder if this will help???? ..
OR of course something like this.

Did the Zaino's plastic polish remove the mark? I have that same problem right by the passenger seat warmer switch.

Re: Scratches on Titanium trim

I got some scratches near my knee on the console within two days of picking up my car. I've used two coats of Liquid Glass which is a polish. It made 'em disappear. I did the plastic part of the door handles, too. Apparently a lot of 'Vette owners use it for the exterior of their cars.

Maybe the Zaino thing is cheaper, tho, at $10 a bottle. This 16 oz. bottle of LG is about $16 or $17, but I've had it for a few years. It's probably drying in the can more than I'm using it! Good luck and I hope this helps you some.
