Meguiars Headlight Restoration has a mix of polish in the compound, so when finished, it gives a nice sleek shine to it. But what you could also use are normal paint polish compounds. But use just about a quarter sized dabs worth.

Would this help minimize the visibility of a scratch on one of my lights looks like someone took a key to it about 2 inches long I don’t remember if its deep or not.

 

I used the Meguires stuff on my 03 sedan, came out awesome, unfortunately I didn't seal it, and in 3months some of the areas started to re-haze.

That being said, I now have an 07 that is starting to get hazy around the projector area, what to but on an OEM light to preserve it before it gets worse?

I would recommend a very tough paint sealant such as Opti-Coat 2.0. This stuff is insanely life lasting. But be extremely careful with it! It doesnt come off until you buff it off completely with a strong polish!

Kind of pricey, but looks pretty interesting. Headlights always seem to haze up after a couple or few months even if I seal them

 

I noticed when I used that polish (step 1), and they looked amazing but then continued through the other steps and they actually don't look as nice as they did from after step 1. Any idea why? Maybe try the polish (step 1) again? Thanks for any help or advice.

sorry about the late response, but use the Headlight Restoration Kit from Meguiars and it should take off any weird residue/oxidation of any sort. Buff starting at low speeds, then bring it up till it is at full speed and go in a circular motion.

 

I had to do this to my sedan again because I didn't reseal it the last time I did a restoration. When I was at Autozone buying a claybar kit, I noticed that Meguiar's now offers a headlight sealant, also. I didn't use it because my driver's side headlight is taking in water when it rains and when I get it washed, so I may have to take them out and clean the inside and seal them up. However, I restored my sister's Honda Accord headlights yesterday and it took about 30 minutes total (without taping off, her paint's fubared anyway). Nice job on the honda, I may do 1500/2000/3000 next run on mine and I'll update my write up as well.
