how bad are they? I cleaned these RX-8 headlights with 3 inch pads with Meguiar's 105 and 205.

other side corrected

once they are corrected you will need to coat them with some type of protection. Any kind of plastic cleaner will work if they just have a light haze. Optimum Opti-Coat is a good choice for permant protection.

I did mine earlier today with Meguiars plastic X to remove the hazing. I only have "After" shots but my lights look amazing. I have light pitting on the surface of the lights so in the future I may sand it out.

Your headlights re-haze because the UV protectant has been removed, and the plastic is exposed and oxidizes. You need to put some sort of sealant with UV inhibitors on the plastic to keep it from yellowing over again.

For mine, I wet sanded with 2000 grit, then used a Meguiar's polish, and then finished with a Meguiar's glaze. I did the same thing on my old 96 motorcycle taillights which were hazed much worse. Both shine and are very clear now. These were just some products sitting on my friend's shelf at the time, but they worked well.
Now, I got lucky and all my having was on the outside of the housing. This is not always the case though.

All i used on my 03 was 3M rubbing compound....rough towel to rub & a micrfiber to buff clean!!! You can see the crap come off on to the towel, plus i always wax or polish my head&tail lights to keep them protected!
