ARRRRGH....Highway Paint
ARRRRGH....Highway Paint
Fellow G Brothern....Somehow got into some highway paint, you know, the wonderful yellow paint used to paint lines, markers, whatever. None on the body of the car but nice B.B. size splatters against the back wall of all fenderwells. I have been picking away with my fingernail and it scrapes off fairly easy but the lazy *** in me is wondering if there is a decent non abrasive product that will loosen it up real nice so I can wipe it off. There is quite a bit of it....looks like a bunch of bumble bees exploded.....thanks in advance for some advice.
You might want to file a claim with the government entity that was doing the painting, I know here they will take care of you with stuff like that, I found that out some time ago, but not until I rushed home and cleaned it up myself. I knew I had run over it when I saw the car in front of me splash up paint! The bad thing is that stuff is made to dry fast, wasn't there a truck behind the paint machine? Lucky it's just in the wheelwells. If you got it in the tread of the tire, just spray some flat black paint in there, that was what I did. There is also a product, but I can't remember the name, that can remove some paint, but it may just work on latex. Good luck!

The paint "dots" are beaded up and they dried fairly quickly. Like I said, they pop off without a lot of effort but there are soooo many of them, thats why I was wondering if maybe that 3M remover stuff (cant remember its exact name) or something similar might soften it up enough to just scrub/wipe off.
I had this problem as well. The road painters had dumped white excess paint into the street. I ran over it and my tire and wheel well were filled with white paint. I bought some Castrol degreaser sprayed my wheel well down and tire and power washed that area. Dotted paint marks were left over so I took out my old blockbuster membership card and scraped the dots off. For the white paint that was on the paint of my car, I used WD40 to remove it.
