2006 G35 Coupe 80k miles Exhaust Cleaning

Well the car is dirty after rain that we have received, today i decided to clean out the exhaust tips because having a swirl free car and dirty exhaust tips is shiet, so here are the pictures.

Products used:
- Invisible Glass spray (used as lubricant, you can use windex too)
- Steel Wool 0000
- Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish

I don't understand removing the black paint from a stock muffler... to me its ugly and I don't want to be able to see that huge eyesore.

Imo it could still be much better. Try a product called neverdull by eagle one. I litterally made an exhaust i got from a junk yard look brand new with it. Ive used it on wheels, exhausts, and even stuff throughout tge house. Truly amazing. Youll see.

Sorry to say but its not paint its road grime, dirt. You must of never owned a new car eh? started forgetting what was painted and what was not lol

Oh I thought it was but now that I look at my stock exhaust hanging up in the rafters its not lol my bad. but personally I would rather have it black and just have the tips stand out more

I guess each to their own, the black does blend in more on a black car, but when the car is up for sale and people see shiny stuff it tends to help

u sure its not coated with black hight temp paint to protect it? thats wat i thought. i dont think grime would be that nicely distributed

I was out in the shop when I took a closer look at my stock exhaust and it is painted black on the bottom side. In the pic you posted you can tell by looking at the muffler the bottom side is too. If you do a google search for g35 stock exhaust they are all painted black.

so yes it is painted black from the factory and you took the paint off.

u sure its not coated with black hight temp paint to protect it? thats wat i thought. i dont think grime would be that nicely distributed

Indeed my is also painted black.

interesting, my friend has a 350z 2004.5 touring and his wasn't like that, he then got a nismo muffler and same thing.

HAHA!! that sucks but very funny.

Put that steel wool down Mr. Clean. Somethings are made to be dirty LOL.

But seriously what should he do to protect the muffler? Will he be okay? More rust possibilities?

He had his for over a year, drives his car in winter and its fine, either way my car is sold and the buyer said the car is very clean looked under saw shiny exhaust, car sold 2 weeks ago
