05 Center Clock Glass Stained

Hey guys hate to make anew thread but I searched and found mostly stuff about the 04, or cudnt tell which was for 03-04 or 05-06 by title.

The problem is the glass on my clock seems to have been sneezed on by a very contagious person and has stained my clock glass and a little on the HVAC display. I had windexed and tried mequirs ultimate compound over it since it seems to work magic, and it had gotten WORSE!! Plastic X got ti back to where it was still with a few tolerable stains. I tried harder to get them to go away with plastic x but no luck. Is there a way to remove this entire assembly by what seems to be a lid over the clock that runs with the curvature of the dash. That way i could just replace it or put a headlight lens restore kit to it?

Windex is the worst thing to use on clear plastics. Plastic X would be the only thing I could think of that is safe on the plastic. It may take quite a few tries bfore it clears up. Search youtube for clock removal. I know I came across a video before for 05-07 clocks.

Idk about windex being 'bad', never had any issues myself but the stains seem to be relatively common on the clock and center temp display. Probably from some kind of oil based dash protectant, which shouldn't be used... But nonetheless you're on the right track trying to polish it out. There's a few write ups on here on how to remove the clock and the rest is pretty straightforward

So I replaced my clock. The soft dash is very fragile to scarring and tearing. I see why so many crack. Also fixed the upper piece on the clock not being flush with the dash. I tried a headlight restore kit on the old one and it seems to work. It clears the clock glass fine, but the black glass around the clock will show the abbrasion a lot more, but if ur display is really stained its muxh better.

Ill post pix of the restore n offer it for sale at $25 if anyone needs one.
