Terrible Badge Removal

I got my coupe a few weeks ago and decided to try to pull the badges. Wrong. At first I wasn't even thinking and used the "Aircraft Adhesive Remover" stuff that did not do ****. Then ended up doing the fishing line and flossing style. Got it all off and of course, got the ghost? look of the clear coat? I tried the whole wetsand with 2K, then used Meguirs cutting compound and finally polishing. It seemed to look worse!

Plus I wasn't even thinking and when the buffer flung a lot of the cutting compound I wiped it off and it left marks all across the rear bumper, which have came out with polishing but still noticeable! I am at a loss here, I know a good body shop, should I just have it re-sprayed or try to fix it? Any ideas? THANK YOU!

Um respray

All it takes is dental floss and goo gone to get those emblems off, then a little polish and that should be it, I did two BS 03 trunks last year and they were not even noticeable once removed, there should have not been any wet sanding.

Looks like you've sanded through the clear coat. Take it to a shop or someone who can do a machine polish on it and get their take on it though. It might polish out; it's hard to tell from a single picture. If you have sanded through then its going to be a respray.

aircraft remover thingamajig is where you went totally wrong! I've used this stuff on bicycle frames and even on some cheap car wheels I was color changing. It removes paint, not adhesives.
Respray is your best bet now. Or use a vinyl shop, see how much it'll cost to lay a high gloss black on that area.
