Leather Seats

Hi y'all!

Hey what does everyone recommend for protecting the fine corinthian leather seats we have? I love the leather in the G, it feels well made, want to protect my investment!!

Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: Leather Seats

Meguairs Premium Leather Care. The wipes are easy to use, but the spray bottle is also good. NOTE: avoid creams because you will need to beat the peforated leather after the cream clogs up the holes and looks nasty. Or, you can wait till it evaporates, but beating the seat will get it out.

Lexol is also good, as well as Tanners Choice.

What about this?

They sure are easy to use, not sure about quality though.

Re: Leather Seats

Stay away from Armor All. I used them on my 300ZX and it did not help. High quality cleaner and conditioners are Ph balanced to the leather. The conditioners actually have chemicals that moisturize and soften the leather. I only use Armor all on the dash. I use Lexol on my leather seats. IT is soft and non greasy.

Joey:

Lexol makes a variety of leather products. What you want is the LEXOL Conditioner/Preserver.

Phone around locally to the leather supply places, of if there is a Tandy Leather Supply in your town, they'll probably have it.

Lexol is the best...PERIOD. Zaino leaves a shiny greasy finish...

Re: Leather Seats

I use the Armor All Leather wipes almost weekly in both cars and about once a month I use the Meguiars' product.

Meguiars for conditioning and Armor All for the quick clean ups. Working well so far....

Malx,

you can go to premiumauto.com, properautocar.com, autobarn.com, etc. You can also check out http://www.lexol.com/dealers.html.

Re: Leather Seats

Do you use these products only to clean the leather?

Or do you use them on brand new leather to protect it?

My seats still look fresh from the factory. I only want to use products if I have to.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Leather Seats

You can and should use the LEXOL Conditioner on the leather even when it's new. It keeps the leather supple na your seats will last longer. Mine soaked up LEXOL like it was dying of thirst for the first 3 or 4 of my weekly applications. Thereafter, at least monthly.

Re: Leather Seats

Waiting to use products on your leather until it DOESNT look fresh from the factory is a bad idea... by then its too late. Here in (dry) Colorado, I put conditioner on my seats all the time and they soak it right up. I usually use Lexol because it's so light, doesn't feel like I'm putting too thick of a coat on at all. Looks a little shiny for the first 1/2 day or so, but absorbs right into the leather. The only thing I don't like about it is the smell.... always smells mildly like bacon to me the day after I use it. But then a couple days later, I think when the leather is really hydrated, you get new car smell, so I guess its worth it.
