clear coat over spray removal

hi,

i was wondering if anyone knows if a clay bar and waxing will remove clear coat over spray? i had some parts of my car repainted and theres a few rough spots on it, and it looks like clear coat. if so what brand of wax and clay bar is best to use? any recommendations would be great....

thanks!!!

yes it will. use mother's clay bar. it seems to work very well. i'd use the clay, then klasse, to prep, then wax with Meguiars NXT (or wax of your preferrence), then polish with Pinnacle (again, polish of your choice).

on a side note: the Meguiars NXT wax and Pinnacle really does look spectacular. i prefer Meguiar's NXT over Zaino IMO.

Don't you mean Zaino over NXT. If you put NXT over anything, NXT will remove the layer of whatever you put underneath because it has cleaning properties in it, thus is labeled as a cleaner wax.

NXT is NOT a cleaner wax.

There are all different grades of clay bars out there. Clay Magic and a few other might work, but it will take you a long time. I would suggest either searching online or finding a detailer supply shop in your area that carries different clay bars. They come in different...grades I guess you would call it, just like compounds. You may need a medium "cut" which would remove more overspray and heavier dirt. I recently used the Zaino clay on a G with some mild overspray and although it removed it, it took a long time. Save yourself some time and find a better clay bar.

Wax alone won't remove overspray.

Hope this helps!
