Im sure your local car wash can polish some shine back into it.

If you want to do it yourself you're going to need a dual orbital polisher and some product. I personally like these items

-Porter Cable 7424XP but don't use the foam pad that it comes with, throw that thing away and get a hook/loop (velcro) backer pad like the next item.

-Astro Pneumatic 4607, it's a 5" backer pad which is the size that works with the next item

-Chemical Guys hex logic pads, they're 5.5", they are color coded for the various grits, here is a snippet of the chart so you can decide which ones you need. You can skip every other pad if you want. If you try to skip two grit the smoother pad doesn't have enough to remove the marks from the previous. If you only skip one pad grit you can still remove the marks from the previous. I only use orange and grey, the 3 on the right side (blue, red, black) are if you are trying to get back to showroom quality and my car is a daily driver that isn't garaged so it's pretty pointless to put that kind of finish on the paint.

Next you will need some polishing compount, I like Optimum Car Care stuff, their aggressive polishing compound is called,

-Optimum 20604 Hyper COMPOUND

I use it on the orange pad, follow it up with.

-Optimum 20574 Hyper POLISH on the white pad.

You're sure to get quite a bit of advice on products to use, there's a LOT of good stuff on the market.

There is a guy called junkman3000 on youtube that does lots of good videos about paint correction for beginners. his videos will show you how to use all the stuff cleric recommended. i got totally into that a couple years ago. it's not hard to put a mirror finish back into an old car if the damage is all in the clear coat like swirls. It takes a long time if you want to do it really well though.
