Anyways, maybe I should be waxing it more, sounds like you guys wax the G every car wash!!!!!

I also have a IP. Some Z6 detail spray and the california duster helps keep it "looking" clean for a lot longer.

I am zainoing it each time right now just because it had nothing on it since it's pretty much brand new. Once I get a good base, I'll wax it less.

so you guys actually wash your g once to twice a week? I really don't find time to do that... i work 5 days a week, where do you guys find time for that? I would like to, but now I wash my g like once a month. I know i should washing it way more than that. Sigh, I guess I do need to wax it. Does waxing it make it easier to wash and clean then next time you wash your car?

I use Meguair's NXT polymer wax, the thing I don't like about wax is it builds up in the crevices of certain body parts and leaves a white crusty stain... and after awhile you will find speckles of white dried up wax spots all over the side of your car thats hard to get off.

This time, I think i will wash wheels first like you somebody mentioned... and dawn wash my car... and reapply a new coat of NXT onto my car... now, the next time i wash my car, i can just use any detail spray to keep it looking clean right? I won't need to wax it ever again as long as I use some sort of quick detail spray over my car? Does the quick detail spray refresh my wax again or something? sorry for all the questions... If i can get by with that, i'll be fine... just wax once and all the other times apply quick detail.

Now what's stopping me from doing this is no stores in our city carries clay bar, I looked everywhere. Walmart, autozone, O'reilly's... and I really can't afford to wait another day, my car needs to be rewashed, waxed right away.... so in the meantime can you guys please tell me what I can use besides claybar to remove of those damn bird dropping stains on my hood? You can tell when you look at it at a certain angle in the light where the droppings left a mark all over my hood... I'm so pissed... I hope there's an alternative way to get rid of them besides the claybar method...

I don't - no way in he\\

I've had the car ~ 5 weeks, and last weekend was the first real detailing I Did since it's been raining here since I got the car.

I'll probably wash it again this weekend and put on 2 more coats of zaino - after that, was maybe every 2 weeks and Z6 as needed.

Yes it does. You don't have as much debris to clean off the car and the surface is smoother.

Don't do it! Think about all the brake dust and metal flakes from the brake pads you can scratch the paint with.

The quick detail spray is not a car wash. I use it after washing the car and in between coats of polish. Ocasionally it can be used to do a "quick detail" if the car is not very dirty but be carefully you don't have any sand particals on the car to scratch the paint.

That's surprising Autozone doesn't have them. That's where I bought my last 2 clay bars. You can always order one from Autobarn. They seem to carry a lot of stuff. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

soG35-Nice ride. I love how a black car shines.

I'm curious why you wouldn't want to wash the wheels first. Every detailing article site/article I've read says to wash the wheels first. I'm not trying to start a debate - you may know something I don't. I just want to know your reasoning so I can see what is truly best for my car.

For Example:
www.properautocare.com
Proper Washing Tips

1. Wash the wheels first. This prevents you from splattering cleaners, dirt and brake dust on already cleaned panels.

From http://www.corral.net/tech/maintenan...l.html#washing
The rims should be done first, before the body. The rims collect brake dust very easily so you'll need a small brush and a cleaner appropriate for your rims, by this I mean you'll need to know if your rims are clearcoated or not...

The brake dust and road grime will be spread all over your car. The tiny metal flakes from the brake pads can scratch the paint. If you do your rims first make sure you fill the bucket with clean soap and water and rinse out your sponge.

It's pretty simple Wash the rims and tires with 2 different mitts (or whatever you use) and use 2 different buckets. It's not that hard to figure out.

I always wash the rims/tires first and every person that I have talked to that knows anything about detailing says/does the same thing.

wash and dry ~30 45 minutes... using Zanio Z7 by the way a trick told to me by my Zanio supplier which works great... After washing, use a leaf blower to remove most of the water, it is particukarly good for getting the water in the cracks and joints (headlights, taillights, doors, etc.)

Then finish with a towel(s).....

If I am doing a complete detail/cleaning add anoither 2 - 3 hours.
Using Zaino Z2 with ZXF Accelerator ....
- put on a coat, then do leather and carpets in the backseat and truck
- wipe off coat, wipe on Z6
- put on next coat of Z2/ZXF
- do the front seat and dash area
- wipe off coat, wipe on Z6
- put on next coat of Z2/ZXF
- do the windows
- wipe off coat, wipe on Z6

then I go drive and a 5 minutes later soime cloud of dust/dirt blows across the road and I curse every living thing.....

Eurog35-I used to detail cars and I always washed the car before the rims. I don't use any cleaners on my rims maybe that's the difference. This can be argued back and forth for days. It comes down to what you feel more comfortable with.
