how long do we have to wait before polishing / waxing our g35's.
the sales rep at the dealership said wait at least 3 months, that seems kinda long. i want to protect my paint then again i don't want to harm it by waxing it too early.

well, the dealer likely sent it out to be prepped . . they would apply a short life span "wax" or glaze to it - hi shine, no durability.

99.9% of the time, by the time you get your new car, the paint idone and ready to be cared for , , waxes, polishes, glazes etc . . .

so, the sooner the better . .. IMO

I heard that same crap and it really did not make sense to me either. IM waxing mine today.

 

well i just spent the whole day polishing / waxing my car. i used klasse all in one then i used the klasse high gloss glaze twice, and it came out great. looks a lot better than it did when i picked it up 2 weeks ago.

 

The car comes to the dealership with a white plastic film on the body panels to protect it from the elements. The film might leave a residue on your car when peeled off. You can use a good car soap to remove the grime. My car came with no wax and was not smooth. I waxed with Meguiars #26 wax and the paint was so smooth. The paint is cured at the factory before it is shipped to the US. Wax on my brother.

 

I waited a month before waxing just to be on the safe side. Just frequently washed it from purchase till then. The problem lies within that DAMN BLACK CAR. It picks up swirl marks like people pickin up hookers on hollywood! I spent the whole day too polishing/waxing the car with 3m swirl remover, liquid wax. It came out beautifully, but when I took it out to the sun, the swirls were still visible.

OMG, anyone know a solution for those damn swirl marks? Something that has been tried and effective.
