McGuires Scratch X Swirl and Scratch remover

Hi guys, I was wondering when do you put the stuff (McGuires Scratch X swirl and Scratch Remover) on and how long do you leave it on before wiping it off the car. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is the correct procedure but i removed my scratch x immediately after application. It seemed to work pretty well. Another product to check out is 3M Swirl Remover part #39009 (for dark cars). I've heard a lot of people rave about it on my350.

I just found a long scuff mark on my right front quarter panel. I'm not sure if I slid across the car while installing my plenum spacer or someone else did it. The abrasion marks look kinda deep. I hope I can get it out!

Are the Maguiars and 3M products mentioned above ok to apply over a couple coats of Zaino?

It doesn't work by leaving it on.

You rub out the scatch (I use a microfiber pad).
Then clean it up.
I then follow up with Meg. pro polish to bring the gloss back up.

Clean it up then wax as normal.

Yea you can remove it right after you apply it. Leaving it on any longer won't help, it may actually make the removal process a little harder and flakey.

Yeah you can use ScratchX but it will definitely remove any product you have on there. So you will have to re-wax the area.

Since nobody in this thread knows how to spell it, Meguiars.

I used the Meguiars ScratchX on Sunday after I washed the car. After a few coats, the scuff is gone!! I didn't apply any more Zaino because immediately after I washed, there was pollen on the windows. So I'll have to wait....

ScratchX is NOT made to be used with machine application. It's a by-hand product only.

If you want to use a 7424, depending on how bad the swirls are, you should use
Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish (#83 I think). It's in their professional line. For any information you can check out www.megauirsonline.com forums.
