McGuires Scratch X Swirl and Scratch remover

I just found a long scuff mark on my right front quarter panel.
I'm not sure if I slid across the car while installing my plenum spacer or someone else did it. The abrasion marks look kinda deep. I hope I can get it out!
Are the Maguiars and 3M products mentioned above ok to apply over a couple coats of Zaino?

You rub out the scatch (I use a microfiber pad).
Then clean it up.
I then follow up with Meg. pro polish to bring the gloss back up.
Clean it up then wax as normal.

ScratchX is NOT made to be used with machine application. It's a by-hand product only.
If you want to use a 7424, depending on how bad the swirls are, you should use
Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish (#83 I think). It's in their professional line. For any information you can check out www.megauirsonline.com forums.
