I Regret Buying A Black Car!!!!!
My car looks like crap during the day!!! It has swirls all over and its only 6 weeks old. The only time it looks good is from far away or at night, or even better far away at night!!
I know you can use various products like a swirl remover to improve the appearance of the scratches, but it just seems like too much work!! Especially when I just spent $39,000 on this car, shouldn't it already look good???
For my next car I'm definitely going back to white!!!!!

Black is a labor of love. Black cars look so hot just after a 5hr wash wax detail session. But damn are they impossible to keep clean, I was saying the same thing after I bought my black Avalanche 2500, but after a while you get over it, and wouldn't trade it for anything.
5-hours later and its dirty
I spent more time cleaning and waxing my black G this weekend than I did driving it. It looked great when I went to bed...this morning, after sitting in the Garage with the door open...it looks a bit dusted. By the time I got to work it needed another bath. Oh well at least it drives like a demon and no one knows what it is!
Go to the store and buy a California Duster. Takes care of the dust so you don't have to wash it as often. Just use it gently. I have a black G also and it is making me nuts. Uuuuggh. I can't even think about it.
*sigh*....yeah you've gotta just ignore all the dust and pollen because there's no way to stop it. Only during the winter does the car stay clean longer.

I have one of those dusters for my Avalanche, I haven't used it on the G yet. 20 bucks and it is the greatest thing ever. all that work, then in the morning, dust, then you break ou tthe duster and voila, it looks like you just detailed it.
Glad I'm not the only one disappointed with there black G. Half the time my car doesn't even look new!!
Especially down here in Texas, we have a huge pollen problem!!!! I have the Calif-Duster too, I clean it in the morning and by the time I come home its covered in dust again!! Seems like a never ending cycle.....

Going from a white Maxima to a Superblack 350Z, I, too, felt like getting rid of the car in the beginning. Here in Atlanta we get pollen like you wouldn't believe and it takes about 5 minutes to get a good coating of the stuff. I'm just thankful that I kept the Maxima to drive on days when my 350 was completely lime green. But now that the pollen season is waning it's not so bad and I wouldn't trade it for the world. There's something about a clean black car that is priceless.
Wash concentrate, scratch-X, clay bar kit, NXT tech wax: $47.56
5hrs of time at the billable rate: $1000.00
Those crazy headturning neck breaking looks you get when cruising the strip... Priceless.

from my own experience and research, in order to remove those swirls effectively, youre going to need a porter cable orbital buffer with some different grade polishes and polishing pads. after you remove them, then you put on your wax or sealant and it should help out a lot. all those products will cost you around 200-300$ though. plus the whole process should take an entire day.
after that, in order to prevent future swirl marks, you just gotta make sure you wash, dry , polish, wax, or whatever with only high quality microfibre towels. do a search on places to get these high quality microfibre towels.
you can also test the quality of the microfibre by rubbing it across an unscratched blank cd. if it creates scratches on the CD, it's probably not the safest for your clearcoat.
basically, if you have black, it's pretty damn difficult to keep it looking perfect, but it can be done.
