tips and tricks: drying trunk area?

hi guys,
i want some tips/tricks that you guys use to dry the back area, i dried the entire car and then i come back 30mins later and there is a water leek coming from under the spoiler thru the trunk lid and onto the bumper, i grabbed a towel and wiped it down.. what are some tricks..

maybe open up the trunk and let everything roll off that way.. and then after a bit come by and dry whatever came out?

thanks!!

I second myG35ZX's recommendation. Just be sure your leaf blower is clean. You don't want to accidently sandblast your trunk

I’ll admit it, I’m too afraid to use a leaf blower because I know I will sandblast my car at some point. I’ve been placing microfiber towels on each side on top of the bumper where the trunk drains are. I leave them there after I dry the trunk and while I’m finishing the rest of the car. It seems to help catch most of the water that usually drips down my bumper.

Dry the trunk--externally. Open trunk--dry all the water channels--on the car and the trunk. Drive it around the block--and dry it again--same for the doors. Open and 1/2 slam the doors and wipe what comes out. ALWAYS---DRIVE it around the block and dry the excess.

You will dry the excess that comes from the side mirrors that wets the side of your front doors etc, etc

I do the electric leaf blower as mentioned on the trunk and tail light area, dry the trunk with my blue mf towel, and then open the trunk and dry all the water drain channels around the trunk. the leaf blower is also good to use on the wheels, grille, and side mirrors.....other drip areas.

i agree with driving around the block.
it is impossible to remove all the water from the doorhandles/trunkLid/gasCap/sideMirrors.

you might want to use a Quik detailer to do the final wipe if your roads are dusty.

Or try using the canned compressed air - the stuff for cleaning computers. They only cost about 4 bucks or so a can and they seem to last a while. I also use them for the interior to blow grit out of the nooks and crannies - that is, when I can't find my detail brush.
