Want to switch from CRYSTAL GUARD to ZAINO where should I start

I have been using cystal guard for half a year now. It works great. But I heard a lot of good thing about Zaino. My car is Brilliant Silver and i want more shine, gross. I want the car to "BLING BLING". Is Zaino better than cystal guard?

I want to know where should I start, what should I get? I have the car for over a year now. Do I need to use ClayBar?
Thanks

First of all, check out the Zaino website for complete overview of the product and procedures. Do not hesitate to email Sal Zaino directly, he responds personally too.

1) Wash using Dawn (Blue ONLY) dishwashing detergent to remove all impurities from the CG and get down to the paint coat.
2) Use the claybar if needed with Z7 (shampoo) as lubricant
3) Wash again with Zaino Z7 and dry
4) Apply 1 layer of Z1 (Show Car undercoat) using circluar motions, DO NOT WIPE OFF
5) Apply Z2 Polish (use ZFX accelerant to speed up the curing process) using back/forth strokes on the hood, trunk, and roof. Vertical strokes on the sides. Its the way the sun reflects off the way you apply it, gives you a better end product.
6) Allow to dry. You can use the "finger swipe process" to check if its dry enough to wipe off. Simply streak your finger through the Z2. If it cuts through easily, it's ready. If not, you will just be moving the polish around and accomplish nothing.

Depending on who you ask, you may or may not want to wait 24hrs before applying another coat of Z2. I've applied 3 coats in 1 day. My detailer also does 3 coats.

Sounds labor-intensive, but the outcome is awesome and well worth it. You only need to use the Blue Dawn once, as well as the Z1. Use Z6 as a "between washes" detailing spray.

Again, if you have questions or doubts, ask Sal Zaino directly or post again.

I have a silver G with 3 coats of Zaino, you will not be disapointed. I would recommend ZFX instead of Z1, that way you can apply coats with much less wait, 30 mins verses 4-8hrs. Pick up 2 bottles of Z-6 when you order because I find I go through it very quickly. The Zaino leather products Z-9 and Z-10 are excellent as well.

+1 on the above. ZFX will def. help! Show cars can use it once a year and daily drivers twice per year. For the initial application, I would do 3 coats fo Z5. The following week or day wahtever, apply 1 coat of Z2 without Zfx. Keep building up the coats of Z2 for a better n better shine. Z5 doesn't shine as great as Z2 so Z2 should always be the top coat.

Tips: I prefer applying with a foam pad b/c I can apply it thinner and use less product. The thinner you can apply Zaino the better.

Spray the applicator with Z6 lightly, before starting - makes it easier to apply

Use Z6 in between coats to enhance shine and make each coat easier to apply and remove!

You are supposed to keep using Z5 until you feel your car wont look any better. Meaning when you apply Z5 and it no longer makes the car look better, then you can move to Z2. I just did mine and have 4 coats of Z5 on and hope to get a coat or 2 of Z2 on this weekend!

Enjoy!
