Help!! Seagull sh#* messed up bumper

I took my 4 year old to get a happy meal, parked at the edge of the parking lot to avoid door dings, and got bombed by seagulls. I got home did some stuff around the house for a couple hours, then washed the car. The droppings on the bumper left a mark, like I spilled nail polish remover on it. I even used cleaner wax after I washed, but didn't help. Am I screwed or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the crap ate through the clear coat, I'm afraid there's not much you can do. If you see an "etched" mark where he dumped, it probably ate right through.

I had a bird dump on my last car, and by the time I cleaned it, it had etched a ring around that area. nothing I tried would remove it because the clear coat had been eaten...

I try to keep a bottle of water or quick detailer in my trunk for that very reason.....As soon as I see it, I clean it off.....won't take any more chances with paint damage....
hope this helps....

i had the same problem and it was only about an hr at the mall and it got in. seems like bird **** gets through very easily. by the time i got to the car and wiped it up, it looked like it burned through the paint. i had it repainted and never again will it be under a tree.

I've never had a bird sh** on my car. But just in case, I carry some quick detailer and some microfibers with me.

Tip:
Go to the 99-cent store. They have Armour All car wash towels in a box of 10 or 15 per pak. It's in a black & green package. Keep them handy to clean off those accidents when on the road. They are pre soaked & work well. Then you just toss them. Can't beat the price!

Quick detailers and microfiber are the sh*t (sorry had to throw that pun in there). The poorboys spray and gloss is the best quick detailer I've used too. Great shine, no streaks and you don't need a lot to do a whole car. I don't leave home without it http://secure.detailedimage.com/Merc...gory_Code=Clay.

I was being a little sarcastic. I was saying that the quick detailers are really good and specefically the poorboy's world spray n' gloss.

Yes, as others have mentioned, I have an extra bottle of water, Eagle One's Wet, Wipe & Shine quick spray detailer, and a roll of paper towels in the trunk for situations like yours. On my older cars, I could let crap sit for days . . . But with the G's soft and poorer quality paint, I clean bugs and other stuff off as quickly as I notice it. Good luck!

Hmmm . . . If this helps . . . As with my previous cars, twice a year, I usually apply 2 coats of klasse All In One, followed by 2-3 coats of Klasse High Gloss Sealant, then followed by a monthly app of a good natural carnuba wax. In my case, I prefer to use P21s.

My last 3 Bimmers have all had need flawless paint jobs. My last car had a great finish after nine years, until it met its early demise.

Perhaps, these preventive measures will afford better protection against future unforseen accidents, in a manner of speaking.

I got those yellow hi lite looki g spots as well. I noticed one on my trunk two month ago. Recently there was anothe one by rear of roof area.
Ive use zaino since i got this car in 2/05. And its park in the sun all day 24/7. I wash my car once a week.

Been trying to find out whats causing it.

no bird crap yet..... just dust from the wind blowing. One time some kids spit on my car from the third floor apt. luckily it landed on the front winshield and rainx helped.
