Re: windshield
I haven't priced one myself, but I've heard everything from $500 to $1k. As to whether you live with it as it is depends on how bad the crack is. If it's repairable, get it done soon b4 it 'grows', or weather gets in and ruins it. G/L dude...

Re: windshield
yeah, 1K because its a new car and not many glass companies have replicas yet as there is no demand
how big is the starburst? i've had one on my day-car for over 2 years now and it has not grown, it is near the top, about 3" from the top, still the same size as when it was first conceived
its hard to see from the outside because of the blue tinted strip thats up there.

Re: windshield
My experience is that every time I get windshield damage that it eventually runs. I did have one successfully patched. Took all of about 5 minutes and the guy came to my house. Don't know the cost because the insurance company paid it. I called them and asked if they would rather fix it now or wait until the whole windshield needs replacment. They had that guy at my house in less than an hour! For those of you who don't have insurance and have to pay out of your own pocket, it is still wise to call the claims department of one of the major insurers (State Farm, Allstate, etc) and ask for their recommendations. They generally use high quality and reliable sources. They also know the costs of the local dealers. Good luck. Ken
