Brown spots???

Hey all,

Noob here, so forgive if this has been covered already, but I searched the forum for my problem and I coudln't find a sufficient answer. I've been getting brown spots on my car from I don't know where. Could be bird poop or rust spots (I go over train tracks sometimes), but whatever it is, it leaves a brownish stain on my car as well as my clear bra. The forum suggest the use of a clay bar to get stubborn stains off the car, but what do y'all suggest I use on the clear bra? The use of a clay bar on clear bra might not be good since it could possibly scratch the film, yes? I've tried bug and tar remover to no avail. Help, oh wise men of the forum!!!

Are you sure the brown spots are not under the clear bra? I had the same thing for the first couple of months with the bra. When I parked in the sun, they would be gone the next day. I would be careful about using the claybar on the bra. If you do, make sure it is very very lightly with tons of detail spray.

Using the clay bar on the plastic is perfectly okay and shouldn't scratch it. Just keep kneading the clay so you keep getting a fresh surface. There are some different grades of clay you might want to use Clay Magic's Fine Grade detailing clay just to be safe. Be careful when claying the bra though around the edges. You don't want the clay to build up around the trim and leave some clay on your edges. To prevent this from happening you can tape the edges off. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do and the results.

Thanks for all the info! I think I'll try the clay bar route. I'll let y'all know how it turns out!

You could also use Plexus for the clear bra.

Check out this article. Do the brown spots look like this...?

If so then this is the information you need to get rid of them.

I just noticed that my clear bra has a little brown spot on it already too. It was never there before it just popped up today. I tried cleaning it but nothing. Anyone successfully remove them from a clear bra??

Just got to give my car the second wash this winter (I know, not enough!!!) and I noticed these spots too, mostly coming off of the front two wheels. I was able to get most off with some elbow grease and the scrubber side of my wash mit, but some needed a little flick of the finger nail. I have not clayed my car yet (got it June 05), but do you guys think it can wait until March/April to have all the brown dots removed?
