New Paint - No Wax ?
Got a reaaly huge rock ding on brand new 05 coupe....
Put a good dent in it and had to be fixed. Took back to the dealer and the fixed the dent, feathered in the black, then 2 layers of clearcoat paint.
They said NO WAX FOR THREE MONTHS.......... Why?
They used a buffer to shine it up, but it still looks terrible with buffer streaks in it. Keep looking at the Porter Cable buffer and pads - w/ NXT right next to it and have to restrain from wanting to get that georgeous liquid black look back on the hood.
**ARGH**

I've heard the same thing, if the paint wasn't baked in a booth you gotta wait 1 - 3 months. Three months might be on the conservative side, but I don't think I would risk doing it too early. As for the exact reason I'm not 100% sure. My guess is that when you buff it you can create a tremendous amount of heat in one area and that might disrupt the curing of the paint.
