Actually he's being more a ***** than you think. Water from hoses/sprinklers can leave permernant etchings in the paint that can only be taken out with abrasives. If a wash doesn't get rid of them try clay. If that doesn't work it's very likely you'll need to use an abrasive polish to get rid of them. I'd make a point of telling him to stop.

It's probably fine, I'm overly **** about these things - I didn't mean to make you worry. Rain water is ok too (normally), it's just that hose and sprinkler water have a lot of mineral deposits from being in pipes that can etch the clear coat sort of like bird crap. If you wash and you still see the spots, or etching (looks like tiny little pits in the clear) try claying over the spots. Odds are that will take the spots right off. If you do see an etching you might need something like Meg's ScratchX, but I wouldn't sweat it. Just let him know not to do it anymore.

If the marks don't come off with a simple washing than you more than likely will need an abrassive polish. As previously stated the water marks can leaving etchings in the clear coat very easily. Something like the Poorboy's World SSR 2.5 may take it out and then I would follow it up with the SSR 1.0. Great deal on both SSR's here.
