Need Some Help On Some Blk Paint...

First off i have 05 blk coupe, and this is wat i did to it....i was washing my car after work and it was getting a little dark, but I still felt as if i had enough time to polish. My dumb *** starts to polish (I did it by hand with 3M polish) as it was getting dark, it ended up getting too dark so i only did half the car. At the time under very little lighting it looked like it came out nice so i went in thinking i would finish the polishing job the next day. Next day comes around and there streaks all over where i did the polishing, and was so heated.... I washed the car again and those streaks are still there and i didn't polish or wax again. So can anyone help me get those streaks off???? What can i do...someone pls help my poor paint??

If all you did to this point was polish, I'd start over with polishing the whole car again. The "new" coat of polish will work in with the "older" coat and remove the streaking that you are seeing.

Another thing you can try (if you don't want to do the above) is to use a quick detailer spray (Meguiars Final Inspection or Meguiars Quick Detail or your favorite brand) and wipe it down with that.

Most likely the streaks you are seeing are just polish residue that you didn't get removed completely.

If you have any rubbing alcohol laying around just mix some 1:1 with some water, spray and wipe. That will remove any polish, wax or sealant you have on the car, so make sure to polish/seal/wax it again soon.

I agree with Jim Cambell, should come off without too much work. The only way it will be very hard to get off is if it's baked into the paint, even still a slightly more aggressive polish should take it off. Picus112's recomendation would work to but thats a lot of alcohol which isn't great for the finish. It should be washed off right after.

Thanks guys for the replys. Lets say i do a new coat a polish in proper light of course, even though those streaks are residue from the polish is there any way after the new coat of polish wears off that those streak would still be there?

Not really - polish is essentially removing a small fraction of the surface on your paint if it's an abrasive, or is at least designed to clean off any contaminants from the paint if it's a cleaner. Either way, the polish that's there will be polished off. This time just make sure to follow up with an ISA:water rubdown or at least a good quick detail before sealant/wax to make sure you get all the new residue off.
