stock rim problem
stock rim problem
my 05 19" has black spot on the rims, and my friend's fx had it too, he brought the car back to infiniti and they told him it's the rims cleaner he sprayed on ate the paint, he should never use it when the rims are hot i agree with that too so he just had it repaint by infiniti dealer but the color wasnt like stock one at all, so after i saw what happened to his i always wash and clean my rims when it's cold, but today i saw one of the rims has exactly what my friend's had on his, like water marks but in black color.
so does anyone else has the same problem ? i now dont know that would cost that since i always wash it when it's cold ... and only one of my rims has it the rest are fine for now....
but my friend's started with one too and later on all four of his got it...

I've seen a G in Windsor, ON w/ many of those black spots (paint peeled off) as you described. OEM 18's. It scared me. It looked really bad and I couldn't believe the owner was driving the car w/ the wheels in that condition.
well here in toronto i cant really find anyone who can paint the wheels same color as stock one, and i was told from infiniti dealer that infiniti does not release the formula of the paint so...

If you wash your car as regular as I do once or twice a week you'll never have to use any acid based wheel cleaners to clean your wheels Never Use Wheel Cleaner To Clean Your Wheels...I learned my lesson time and time again!!! When I go to my local hand carwash they already know not to spray that crap on my wheels..strictly soap and water is all you need! Again Everyone NO WHEEL CLEANERS...SOAP AND WATER IS ALL YOU NEED!!
Michelin Wheel & Tire Cleaner is not corrosive to metal surfaces and, therefore, can be left on wheels without risk of damaging alloys and metals. Numerous competitive products rely on very acidic, low pH cleaners to remove the soils that buildup on wheels and tires. This ultra-low pH is not good for wheels (corrosive) and harmful to the environment.
It's non-acidic, and you can keep your skin. I use it on my chrome wheels and it seems to work well.
thanks but after my friend's car has been repaint we only use soap and water BUT still gets that water spot...
and i think infiniti is the only car has that problem right (stock rims) subaru, acura, bmw. none of them had this problem before..
