What Should I Do?

To all, I have been having major construction going on my house. My G coupe has been parked in the driveway and it constantly gets dust all over it as well as rain on it. On the front hood of my car, covering the whole hood, is BIG WATER MARKS AND DUST MARKS ALL IN ONE. There are about 60 different marks. I tried going to a car wash and washing my car with regular water and soap, and both, they couldn't get it out. They told me the only way was to detail my car. Will Zaino or any other products you know of get rid of these marks. If you could help, I would really appreciate it. Thank You.

IMO, rather than spending what...minimum 3 hrs of washing and waxing, take it to the wash and get it detailed between $25-50. I normally detail my car myself but since you said the marks aren't coming off, the detailers will surely get it off

My old car had a ton of water/dust marks, it was disgusting to look at. But a wash with Dawn, followed by claybar and only 2 coats of Zaino made it look like new again. You're only going to scratch your paint if you keep rubbing it hard using regular soap.

NOOOOOOOO!!! Do not wash your G35, or any car as a matter of fact, with any dishwasher or clothing detergent!! Keep this in mind...what's so good about dishwashing liquid? They cut grease away. What's so good about detergent? They cut grease and other contaminants out. Maybe it won't happen for the first couple of months to maybe years but you're slowly taking the car's clearcoat off.

Always use soap made for cars. They have chemicals that don't harm your paint and also have a special sealant in them.

Yep. Wash with Dawn to get everything off and then clay bar it. Then Zaino! About 3-4 hours work of course.

Wash with whatever you want, then clay it. Clay will get out most of the waterspots, if it doesn't you need to polish. Zaino is not a polish.

When washing I do not recommend that you use Dawn because as mentioned before it cuts grease. This means that it will strip the wax off the car and potentially dry out the clear coat overtime. I recommned using automotive shampoo (aka any soap with conditioners in it i.e. don't strip wax). Good examples are Poorboy's World Super Slick and Suds, P21S Bodywork Conditioning Shampoo, Menzerna Automotive Shampoo. As for removing the water spots, they can be very difficult to remove depending on how bad they are. Sometimes clay bar will help remove lighter ones. If the clay doesn't remove them all I would try a medium abrasive polish like Poorboy's World SSR 2.0 or SSR 2.5. These are great at removing water spots.

I also would not bring my car to any detailing place that charges $25 - 50. Especailly if they are removing the water spots for you. If your considering getting a professional detail done I would find out specefically what they do (wash dry clay polish sealant wax interior condition leather fabric guard etc) If they are doing many of these steps and the price seems too low, expect a low quality job. I do base interior/exterior of a car for $185. That gets a thorough interior cleaning, fabrics and carpets extracted, leather conditioned, pretty much everything, exterior gets a wash and wax thats rather thorough as well. These steps take a lot of time and if your getting a low price, either the place is not paying themselves enough or more likely they aren't doing a good job on all the steps.

Let me know if you need further clarification on any of these steps or processes.
