Can this be buffed out?

the bumper is not metal, its black Polyurethane or whatever bumpers are made out of... I've been able to fix a similar scratch by using nissan touch-up paint, dry and wet-sanding after painting
I'm an amateur at touch-ups, so it didnt come out perfect, but its good enough for me... its not worth repainting your bumper... thats what a bumper is for- to get damaged. When you sell your car, maybe you can get your bumper repainted for $200. Otherwise i would just live with it

This type of scrape will clean up very nicely. If it's through the paint you still may notice it, but it will look very good overall. Meguiar's makes a product called Scratch-X that will work perfectly on that. Just use a microfiber towel, buff it with a side to side motion and then buff it off with a clean side of the microfiber.

Very simple to remove or atleast significantly reduce the money before you bring it to a paint shop. For $25 get the Poorboy's World SSR 2.5 and the SSR 1.0. The SSR 2.5 is a medium abrasive polish that will reduce a micro thin layer of the clear coat thus buffing out the scratch. Then follow it up with the SSR 1.0 to ensure there is no haze left behind and the surface gloss has been restored. Just work the product in a circular motion and remove with a microfiber towel. These simple two steps work great by hand or with a buffer. I do this type of work professionally and I often do it by hand just to take care of one single spot. I prefer to apply it with a clean microfiber applicator pad.
