Meguires NXT generation

Here's a picture of my car at the Team Transport 'Toys4Tots' event. I put 3 coats of NXT gen. liquid wax on the day before. Drove 125 miles to industry city for the show and when i got there all i had to do was wipe it down with some NXT gen. spray wax and it was good to go. If anyone is wondering about this product... it is awesome. Also note that it's not that easy to capture reflections on the IvoryPearl paint.

NXT is one of the better locally available sealant/waxes. It does a good job filling in imperfection too (for those of you with dark cars). I'd say the only downside is it need to be re-applied pretty often. Otherwise it looks great - that IP car looks incredible GP.

Nice, but you do know NXT has a cleaning agent so multiple applications do nothing to shine etc right?

Next time put a thicker coat on and leave it for a good half hour. Buff it all off. With in 24 hours there will be a HUGE difference.

I would suggest using NXT the night before a show. It doesn't do a huge difference on the spot. Then follow up with the spray wax and a microfiber at the show to touch it up for prep.

How do you get so many coats on so fast? It normally takes me 1 hr to wash and dry alone. Within the next 1 hr, I can do 2 coats at most. Do you rush the process?

Good point - I think the general concensus on NXT is that 2-3 coats is where you stop seeing results since it begins cleaning the previous layers off. Of course you could always spit-shine it, but I'm not sure that would be worth it.

I thot 2 hours was pretty quick too. If I do a full detail (wash, dry, polish wax*2) it's a 4-6 hour project. But then again I'm pretty picky!

I use a porter cable to do almost all of my work now. Even applying Menzerna FMJ paint sealant. I get done a whole lot quicker.

As for those that are spending 1hr washing/drying your car... it really shouldn't take that long. I can wash and dry 2 cars in about 50 min and that includes drying everything (wheels, door jambs, trunk lid, etc). I hope everyone knows to run a stream of water over the car to sheet off the water. Helps alot in total drying time. Use a waffle weave microfiber towel helps me alot.

For everyone saying that 2 hours is pretty fast, i'm just that damn good!!! JK JK JK I wash my car once a week and I have it down to an exact science. It only takes about 25-30 minutes to wash and dry. Then i wax it by hand. I do the hood first then while the hood is drying i do the top of the car and one of the sides. Once they're done I buff off the wax on the hood and put another coat on, then buff the side i just put on, then i do the other side, and so on and so forth until i have 3 coats on it.
^+1 on the washing and drying 2 cars in 50 mins. The stream of water really does help too. It shouldnt take you guys an hour to wash and dry.

I use a PC 7424 for applying wax, and then I have the Meguiar's Microfiber clothes that fit on a foam buffing pad to help with removal.

When you put wax on, there is no need to put on and remove in sections. You can wax the entire car and then remove it. For polishes, you need to do it a section at a time.

I could probably do it faster, but I just take my time and do a really good job of it.
