quick detailing black?

my neighbor quick details his silver CTS like once a week it seems. i don't know how often he washes it, but it looks spectacular. in my experience with black paint, i don't think it would be a good thing to quick detail my black G35C. does anyone in here mess with quick detail? perhaps i'll spend a little extra to take my coupe to the carwash.

Do you mean quick detailing after a wash, or TO wash? I always QD after a wash, since it's qd is really just a kick in the butt for your wax/sealant. I wouldn't qd to wash, though. If you want a waterless wash you're better off looking into Protectalls Quick and Easy Wash or to a lesser extent Poorboys Spray and Wipe.

ya, my neighbor just QDs out of the blue, dry! it's a silver car, so scratches prolly don't show like they would my black paint.

Ya, qd'ing is normally a bad idea if there is anything more than a light dust on the car. All he's doing is pushing dirt around on his paint.

Try OCW .....

Optimum Car Wax is a fantastic product. Wax/ Sealant/ UV protection all inone. Wash car then spray and wipe OCW. I can do my Black Coupe in 15 minutes or less. Pretend it;s a QD!!

Durabilty on OCW is good too (for a spray on), the bottle says 5 months but I get more like 3 - still, for a 10 minute job it's great.

Whaaaa, OCW on glass???!!!

Yep, check it out.... do the glass too. Works great but go very light with application on front windshield or you'll notice minor smearing when wipers used. Just as good as rainex and way faster.
As previously mentioned I have 3 coats OCW on my Black '06 coupe. Nothing beats it for ease of application, shine and fast removal. Durability unknown. I put on 2 coats 24 hours apart starting day I brought car home. Applied 3rd coat about 6 weeks later kind of like a QD. Only takes 15-20 minutes max so just consider QD/ wax IMO.
Note that I did NOT let dealer wash or clean exterior of my car......... NO SWIRLS and OCW won't add any since it contains NO abrasives.

interesting. where can i buy OCW and how much? i suppose you still have to wash the car obviously...but it sounds like a great spray on wax after a carwash!

Cool

I use Zaino and if it is not really filthy, I hit it lightly with my Cali Duster and wipe it down with Z6. It comes out great.

Zaino, Z6 Z9, I too have a Black g and i wanted to keep it clean as much as possible. Lucky for me in Jersey i get a warm day every week or 2 and hand wash it in the driveway. Then spray it.
