I have a crease on the left side of the drivers seat from putting my knee on it to get something out of the center console.

 

maybe infiniti should have like "seat facelifts" take our cars in and let them pull cut and stuff them back up so they look young again!. its late give me a break.

creases suck.

First off to those who mentioned the "scratch" - while the pictures may not show it, this is a crease and not a scratch.

I condition my seats everytime I detail. I think they have been done 3 times since new just to get them to feel as they should. The car never even really sees sun. It goes from my garage to the garage at work (yeah, an actual garage space at work, not a parking garage). If my leather is doing this, I would imagine that I am not the only one.

Is this something worth complaining to the dealer about? I am guessing not.

I may be able to work the crease out but wanted to check with you guys before I did anything.

my dad put his knee on my passenger side seat the first day I got the car to show my stupid uncle, and it was creased ever since that day. The other day I had some book with a sharp edge on that seat, and when I took a hard turn it almost cut right into that same area where my dad ruined. I got bad luck with that seat lol.

 

i used botox injection in my seat where I had creases and it worked wonders

 

I accidentally creased the leather in my friend's IS and in futile attempts to fix it i used *cough Victoria Secret Love Spell body lotion. it actually allowed the leather to become supple and eventually his buttcheek smoothened the leather back out and you can barely see the line now. although i would not recommend this as a leather treatment in replacement of something else. worth a shot though.

Those Creases Are From Heat, Turn Off Them Heated Seats There Bad For Leather.

 

hmm, interesting post. before i saw your pics, i thought it was going to be much worse - i would consider a crease like that normal wear. if it makes you feel any better, i had a few BMWs and their leather creases like CRAZY too - much worse than your pics. if you don't believe me, take a look at the pic of my 2004 M3 seats at 8k miles. a TON of BMW guys get leatherette instead of leather for this very reason but i cant agree with that -- some creases in leather are worth the price of enjoying nice leather seats every time i drive.

btw, i'm new to this board - i used to use leatherique on my previous cars' seats and loved it - but dont think it can be used on perforated seats in our g's...

 

Just pulled this post back out and you were 100% correct. I have 1750 miles on the car now and what do you know, a huge crease on the left side bolster of the seat. As I think I stated before, the car lives inside, is rarely driven these days, and the seats are well conditioned. This is getting annoying. Do you guys think I should complain to my dealer?

It's just a car...just cuz you spent 35k on it, doesn't mean they equipped it with the finest items.

 

That's for the reality check. A lot of whining on this board about the quality of the G.

The leather seats in the G aren't the best in the world for sure, but they are better than most cheaper cars and not as good as most expensive cars.

 

The crease in your seat looks like it is caused by something- foam stuffing? beneath the leather. If it bunched up or folded over it would cause the pucker or crease. The only way to test that theory is to have the leather upholstery removed or take it to a place that specializes in leather repairs to get an opinion.
