Thumbs down No loaner for an oil change???

I called for service today (my first appointment) and was told "We don't give loaners out for oil changes, it only takes an hour." I've yet to ever wait one hour for an oil change at a dealer...

Anyone else had a similar experience? It sure as hell isn't what the sales guy sold "You'll always get an Infiniti."

I plan on pushing the issue but wanted to see if anyone else was told this...

Just pound them, and they'll give in.

My dealer always gives me a loaner, though they ask if I want to wait. I just tell them I'm too busy at work and then pick up my loaner and let the beating begin....jk.

If they told you that I would hold them to it. When I bought my car, my dealer told me that they would not give out loaners unless the service was expected to take longer than 2 hours.

Must be nice not to have to work. Oh, drop it off at 8am and wait an hour. Yeah right, EVERY time I've gone to the dealer to get anything done it takes at least 2-3 hours. Not to mention it was promised.

Time is money buddy!

Here's the million dollar question....

Why do you have your dealer change your oil? My dealer quoted my $39.99 shortly after I purchased my vehicle, and I laughed in their face. I now pay $20.99 to a local shop that uses the same oil as my dealer, rotates my tires, lets me watch them if I want to, and gets me out of their in 45 minutes.

NEVER use the dealer for anything out of warranty.

If you do regular service at the dealer, they'll be more inclined to do warranty work on your car if it's modded.

I got all my service done at the dealer up until now. They warrantied me new headlights, window motor, seat motor, and fixed rattles. I have FI, fully modded suspension...

My local dealer won't give out loaners for service shorter than 2 hours.

The dealer I go to for oil changes doesn't give out loaners for oil changes either. I usually just wait, but it does take longer than an hour -- maybe 1.5 - 2 hrs max. I usually have them drive me over to the local mall, hang out and test drive their cars, drink/eat their freebies, and/or read.

I totally agree that time = money and wish they would give out loaners. The only reason I keep getting my oil changes at the dealer is because my dealer included 2 yrs of free oil changes when I purchased my coupe.

Let us know if you ever get that loaner!

Wow....I take mine to my local Nissan dealer who is just down the street...

And it cost about 1/2 as much....and I have never waited over 45 min to get it done.

if your time is that expensive you'd
1) not waste more of it by trying to get a loaner car.. you'd drop it.. and let bygones be bygones.. it happened.. live with it
2) you would have cabbed it.. cuz every minute lost is so much cashola
3) you would probably have had an office boy to drop off your car for you
you could also try
1) not being such a cry baby and try to rage war at ur dealership cuz they told u they dont give out loaner cars for 1hr (which is very understandable)
2) try to be friendlier to the help... when ur nice to them, they will do you more services just becuz they like you... a smile and asking them how their weekend was doesnt hurt anyone.. and believe me they appreciate it..
at my dealership, I'm super nice with everyone.. when they do super excellent work on my car, I always bring them a lil something as a thank you.. like a bottle of Vodka, or some sweets.. you'd be surprised how much they appreciate it..
