paint/plastic sheathing I pursuade: do not mix

Hey fellas, havent been here in a while n heres my big problem:
I covered my car with a plastic cover (regular plastic sheathing) since I did not have a car cover the day after: 1/ My car was Egged (yes I washed that off) and 2/ there was Hail falling randomly the day after that. I left it for a few hours during the cold day and later that nite for almost the entire night
Now I am left with this:

after rubbing compound and waxing (Meguiars), still visible:

the new wax shine makes it harder 2 see but only at some angles and the worst is on the side:

There is also a purple-ish mark that must have come from the small lettering on the plastic. Im assuming the vapor/moisture trapped in the gaps somehow marked up my paint... And yeah I had no clue plastic sheathing would do this, i know its my stupidity and I should have known.. any help/advice would be awesome, thanks_

yeah before that i will have it buffed, if that doesnt work then claybar n polish would be next, i was even told at the meguiars forum to try isoproply alcohol (i also read about vinegar) to release the moisture, wet sanding would be my LAst option =/

A 50/50 alcohol wipedown will probably not help you much unless you can *feel* the contaminants on the surface.

To me, it looks like it needs to be hit with a G-safe compound, polished, and sealed. It may take a somewhat abrasive compound to tackle that and thus you may need to follow that compound with something a bit lighter. To me, this looks like a perfect candidate for Poorboy's SSR2.5 -> SR1 -> Pro Polish -> EX-P sealant. You will need to play around a bit and see which compound to start with to actually remove the problems and not induce additional marring.

Best of luck!

Use Nylon Spotter or Acrylic Solvent. I'm not sure if they are off the shelf items though.

A wet sand and a polish combo will probably work too.
