Previously, I owned a 1955 Chevy Bel Air 2-door Hardtop, which has a ton of chrome and just as much stainless trim to clean. Take what you see on the outside, and there was easily 3 times that amount (chrome and stainless) on the entire car (wheels and chromed engine bay as well). It would take me all weekend just to get the chrome and stainless done inside and out, not including washing/waxing, etc. of the rest. So it's safe to say that I've had a lot of hands-on experience with shining chrome and stainless and have tried most of those dedicated products.

On the '55, I found the Mother's Chrome Polish to work best on both the chrome and the stainless, so I decided to try it on the brushed aluminum trim in my G. Happy to say, it works great!

Most aluminum or stainless cleaners/polishes are pretty strong and intended to bring life back into worn finishes. With the G's trim, all you're really looking to do is remove fingerprints and add some shine, which is just what the Mother's Chrome Polish does so well. I did my console/radio surround, door-pull inserts, interior handles, pedals, E-brake button and shifter collar and shift-pattern indicator. VERY happy with the results.

Wipe a VERY thin coat on and then go back and buff to remove with ease. Avoid letting the polish dry completely (beyond it's initial haze) and avoid hot surfaces for the same reason. By the time you get it on all of the aluminum trim in the car (60-90 seconds?), go back to where you started and begin buffing off. ALWAYS wipe/buff WITH THE GRAIN of the brushed aluminum and you'll never have to worry about scratching it (the polish is too gentle anyway, but you're choice of towel might not be. ).

My trim now shines like new. Easy to use and great results for those who really like to detail the interior.
