Need help using detailing spray

I tried using some Sonus detailing spray on my hood, but can't get rid of all the streaks. I tried to reapply some, but it now looks worse. I'm going to have to rewash the hood. It has been about six months into a full Zaino application..could this cause the issue? How much pressure should I apply when buffing?

Sonus detailing spray shouldn't affect Zanio. I would wash again with a mild soap, and rinse really well. Most problems with detail spray are soap residue, oil or dirt.

As to the buffing question, very little when using detail spray. Because it tip. used after washing or dusting pressing too hard could cause paint damage.

Is it the carnauba spritz you're using? If so, make sure to shake it *very* well as the carnuaba tends to settle. Also, do not use it in below 40F weather, it will definitely streak. One spritz should do half a hood at minimum. Just spray and gently buff off with a mf cloth.

It sounds to be like you are either not shaking it (good point picus, I have seen this with a LOT of detailers like Poorboy's QD/QW+ and the Sonus) or you are using it on a good that is too warm or in direct sunlight. If you drive off the volatiles too quickly you will be left with streaks. Just about ANY detail spray can do that, carnuba or otherwise.

As for pressure, you need little to none.

Great Points Picus and GTscott! I think you guys got the major points. Also make sure you have a clean and dry microfiber cloth for removal.

If you have Zaino on your car, why not use Zaino's Detailing Spray... Z-6 or Z-8... they work great...

Don't they! I just did Z8 on the rear of my car in about 15 minutes during lunch. I'm prepping for a coat of Z2 and then another Z8 spritz tonight.

I've only used Z2 once (2 coats) since I took delivery almost a year ago (2500 miles / garaged). I've just washed with Zaino regularly and then hit it with Z6 or Z8 and it looks freshly waxed. Great protection still, but I feel like I owe it to her to give her the 3-step again.
