How often should I wax

I try to wax 4 times per year. Each coincide with the change in season. I don't use the polish but do use a cleaner wax, not sure if they're the same. Since your car's new, I wouldn't think you would need polish at this point. Some dealerships do wax the car before you pick it up. Depends on the dealership.

Really just depends on how particular you are, what products your using and how the clear coat was preped. If you use a product like ICE plan on doing it bi-weekly, if you use a high end product like Menzerna FMJ, EX-P or Klasse HGSG you can realistically get 4+ months of solid protection. The products will adhere to the surface better if the paint has recently been polished, clayed, etc.

While I am not a big Zaino fan, I do use it on one of my daily drivers and find that it is pretty much second to none for durability. If you are wanting to really reduce the frequency of "waxing," I would look to Zaino or Jeff's Werkstatt's Acrylic Gloss.
On my truck which I drive daily and goes from garage to garage, I use Poorboy's EX-P and it seems to last perfectly for 2 months. It seems to start dropping off some in the 2.5-3.5 month range and then be in need of a new application at about 4 months.
On the G which I don't drive much, I use EX-P and it seems to last...well, I bought the car in January and it has not *needed* a new application since. It has 1500 miles on it.
On my toy cars / pride and joys, I use Pinnacle Souveran and usually apply it monthly. It does not need it at this frequency but I enjoy doing it. It is nearly impossible to beat the look of Souveran (or Natty's) but its durability would definitely leave something to be desired on a daily driven vehicle.

I just bought and applied Harly Wax (not HarlEy Wax). Has nothing to do with HD.
It is 100% pure yellow carnauba. It went on and came off very easy.
It leaves no white residue either. It did leave a nice shine, but I don't know
at this point how it will hold up.
I didn't want to use a cleaner wax, as they can cause swirls in the paint.
My '06 sedan has only been washed/waxed with microfiber wash mitt, waffle weave microfiber towels, and a microfiber wax applicator.
